Sheer bikinis and see thru bikinis- Is there any difference?

Monday, April 26th, 2010

I had to deal with this topic because I’ve recently discovered that some girls don’t know the difference between sheer and see thru. If you never thought about getting one of those bikinis and you think such a thought will probably never occur to you-the difference between sheer and see thru is probably not a very big deal. But if one of those two(or both) are on your holiday shopping list, knowing the difference could save a lot of time and nerves.

You see, if you like that sexy “wet t shirt”( or in this case, wet bikini) effect then sheer is what you’re looking for. These bikinis are basically the same like regular ones, except for the fact that the material is a bit thinner which makes this bikini transparent when wet. The most popular sheer bikinis are white ones, but you can get them in other colors like beige, nude or delicate pink. The idea is basically to have a neutral color which will provide that “almost nude” effect. I have a bikini like this and I must tell you it’s really great and it can really make a person feel sexier.. While I’m sunbathing it’s like any other bikini, but when it gets wet it starts showing a little bit more.

In the other hand, a see thru bikini shows literally everything so you should think twice before showing it off on a public beach. See thru bikinis are mostly made from mesh or nylon and wearing one presumes you are ready to bare your privates completely. Here you can choose between a completely see thru version (I’m talking glass-like, ladies) or a more modest one which will also show a lot, but considerably less comparing to the first.  If you think you’re brave enough to try something like this, maybe it’ll be good to test yourself first. Just to avoid public embarrassment. Try this black mesh bikini and see how you feel. This is a good alternative to being topless because the bottom is lined while the top is completely see thru. And if you feel comfortable in this one, you will probably feel comfortable in a more see thru version, too.

New trends- Sheer, lingerie inspired dresses and bodysuits

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Like I’ve already mentioned, I’m absolutely loving the new lingerie-style outfits. I was a little bit shy at first but I’ve seen many girls wearing sheer, lingerie resembling fashion and looking really great. This style is very feminine and sexy and if you’re thinking about a lacy, see thru t shirt or maybe even a dress or a Lady Gaga-ish bodysuit, you definitely won’t go unnoticed!

Completely sheer bodysuits are a little bit too much for everyday wear, but if you have a really important party coming up and you want to make sure you’ll stand out, a lacy bodysuit is the ultimate party wear. Add a pair of killer heels to that and you’ll be the star of the show! But, please, do remember to wear something more than just a bra and panty underneath because if you don’t, you might get a ride home in a police car.

One of my favorite lingerie-transformed-into-outerwear pieces are all those sexy corset dresses. Now, you have a huge selection of very sheer, moderately sheer or non-sheer designs, depending on your style, preferences and off course, the occasion. The good thing about these dresses is that you don’t have to wear a bra. The top looks and acts just like a regular corset, so there will bi no additional straps bothering you. I very much like this Marks and Spencer dress. But, unfortunately, although the neutral color makes it appear sheer- it’s not at all. However, that doesn’t necessarily has to be a bad thing. You can wear it in occasions when sheer is not appropriate and I’m sure you’ll cause at least a couple of eyebrows to raise until you come close enough for them to realize it’s just an optical illusion.

Now if you’re insisting on being a sheer, sexy tease, maybe a gorgeous sheer babydoll dress like this can do the trick. Few layers of sheer black mesh will provide just that, plus enough coverage to look ladylike and high end.

New trends- Sheer lingerie looks you can wear even outside your bedroom

Friday, April 2nd, 2010

Fashion moguls agree sheer lingerie is the hot style for the year 2010. So far, we only got the chance to wear it inside the privacy of our bedrooms but now, we are completely allowed to take sheer out on the streets. And not just allowed, we are advised to do so! New, hot spring/summer looks for 2010 all have one thing in common and that’s sheer lingerie as one of the major garments. Whether it’s sheer babydoll-looking dress, see thru corset top or a pair of French knickers-looking shorts, every big name from Dolce and Gabbana to Jean Paul Gaultier says, “If you think you can pull it off-go for it!”

The lingerie inspired fashion accents the femininity and sex appeal and puts together a glamorous look for us to wear in the evening or during the day. It’s all about combining and making an outfit that will show a lot but still cover everything that it supposed to be away from public eyes. That means you can turn your sheer camisole into a perfectly trendy tunic, just remember to wear something underneath and accessorize good because otherwise, you might end up looking cheap. Katie Holmes and Rihanna went down that path and it didn’t turn out good for them, so the chances are it won’t turn out good for you either. Keep in mind that the whole point of sheer lingerie is looking nude without actually being nude.

In the light of everything that’s happening in the world right now, you know, the Economy crisis and all – I have to notice that this is one of the rare trends that could make us save money rather than spend it.  I’ve checked my lingerie drawer and find a sheer lace shirt similar to this one, did a bit of  cutting and fitting at the top and got the same asymmetric result.  The second great thing is that now we can spend less time shopping because we’re doing both clothes and lingerie shopping in the same time. To be honest, I can’t remember the last time when fashion was this practical!
